The reason why there is a push to get this done are the E-175's Skywest has ordered. They along with XJT management want to know our costs before we are awarded some of them.

Here's whats gonna happen with the contract. The company will beat us to death for weeks with concessions, concessions, concessions. Then after they have beating us down to our last breath they will offer a contract with one or two work rule improvements and a 1% across the board raise. The union will fall for it hook line and sinker. The 600 ASA lifer's will run to the phone and call Charlie Tutt and personally thank him for this generosity. Newie or Roachie will be named the new system chief pilot.

As a former Comair guy I can assure you that it has happened before. At some point DL is going to find that pilots are quite resistant to cuts in light of what happened at Comair. We took cuts and got shut down anyway.

But as the guy above me said, the top 600 or so either don't think that will happen here, or don't think it will affect them.

JB aka Joe Merchant and the other 599 guys/girls saw what happened at Comair and they will gladly take a 5-10$ cut in pay if it means this place stays afloat. (Its funny when JB tells everyone he's financially secure yet is ready to vote in any concessions...I'm not buying it) Management knows this. The majority of them would never get hired anyways...they are nightmares in the airplane. I agree Comair took cuts and still got shut down but they were wholly owned which makes XJT's situation a little different. Delta can't shut us down....yet. Skywest might, but not Delta. Delta however is playing a dangerous game with its regional feed. One or two Gojet lawn darts will open some eyes in congress just like Colgan.

Oh yeah...The Pinnacle pilots set the regional industry back 15 years.

You guys can blame pinnacle all you want, but the seed was planted with Delta when Skypest inc.agreed to a rate reset of the 2nd lowest carrier. Sure the Pinnacle guys/gals could've and probably should've voted no, but Delta would've just found another way. The fact is they had a huge incentive thanks to Skywest, Pinnacle and Gojets Delta gets cheap feed for years to come

Skywest agreeing to a rate reset or being the 2nd lowest cost carrier has little to do with the compensation I agree to be paid. Rationalize it all you want but I'm sure I speak for many XJT pilots and SKW pilots in saying I'm glade your not on either one of our lists.

Skywest pilots have no vote on a contract between Delta and Skywest. Pinnacle pilots definitely had a choice.

What are you flippin blind? If they agree to be paid less don't you think it'll affect you and your group? It may not be what you agree to , but it's coming your way whether you like it or not in a little over a year. Skywest is a direct contributor to the state of the industry today. That rate reset agreement started out as a little behind the scenes rumble that turned into a tsunami. And for the record, I'm glad I'm not on either of your lists either. All you guys want to do is look at the tip of the iceberg and point fingers. The regional sector started sucking long before the Pinnacle vote. And btw, I voted no. Do you think you all helped it when you started flying those Comair birds? Whatever, karma is great
