Maybe he lives in a G7 base. Maybe he has the hours to upgrade. Lots of possibilities

Yeah, it's alright. Anyone who wants a regional job, G7 is just as good as the rest. Do not listen to any of the nay-sayers. It will not hurt your career in the slightest (this is a fact).

I know tons of people from various long upgrade regionals who went there right off the bat in 2005, and they are now at their dream carriers now (Delta, UPS, FedEX, United, etc)..... The last thing that is going to stop your career is Gojet. ....Go! All regionals will start upgrading faster... why not be at a smaller one so yours will be faster. Get your time, more on and stay focused, you'll do fine!

Good luck!

Well I don't live in a base for either, but will move to the one I receive. Defiantly will take me 2 1/2 yrs to upgrade at G7 so my time isn't the issue. I just hear complaints about both but when it comes down to it I I'm done instructing and ready for my first job. So I'm asking a kind of what would you do in that scenario kind of question. Just want to get the answers this website should be here for...helpful. I'm a newbie and still learning all the politics in this game called the regionals, so please spare me that if you can. Thanks

2.5 years is nothing! and it will get faster with all airlines hiring.... they are going to gobble up G7 pilots and any other regional pilots. If you have an offer, take it and start moving forward.

Good luck, you'll be fine.

Every regional is hiring right now if I'm not mistaken. Why go to arguably the two worst regionals contract wise right now? Upgrades will be fast everywhere if you believe in this pilot shortage. As a percentage, just as many people will be leaving from any regional to move on to the majors. And if recession hits, age 70, multi pilots license, fuel spike, or terrorist attack happens, why take the chance of being stuck at a carrier with horrible QOL?

Go-Jet new hire info

I would not call 85hrs and 16 days off a bad QOL.

Are you on reserve? He will be.

If you are starting out in the industry plan on 5 to 8 year if it less great but it maybe longer. Wait for Sky West, Express Jet, Air Whisky, Maybe Eagle good contract but politics right now. Go to a Job Fair and see how professional the recruiters are.
