actually seafeye, regionals were commuters and they had nothing to do with mainlines, that had there own schedule and routes. then mainlines wanted to have that passeneger traffic for them selves via codeshare and then and then and then regionals became what they are. why not a bus driver say that the demise of there industry was airlines selling cheap tickets which completed with greyhound and trailways and put them out of business.

go back to your books and do some more research for management.

Mainline gave up scope.
Need I say more?

So as a young pilot thinking about making the leap and working at a regional in the near future... This has been a big let down. What do you guys think may be some of the ramifications of this vote? More "whipsaw"?

buddies8 10-01-2013 12:48 PM

yes and cheap Chinese import pilots.

If you want to be optimistic about this career, get off this POS website. 9- percent of the pilots on here are immature and could never be happy. I suggest you take a lot of what they say with a grain of salt.

THere's a lot of good info on here, you just have to weed thorugh all of the kindergarten BS.

I'm naturally an optimist... But I'm also a realist. I try and plan 10 years ahead as best as I can (as impossible as that may be in this industry) and it's hard to see the regionals as a safe option. But then again can that really be said about any facet of this industry? Who knows... But this is certainly a volatile career.

this is the first post I've read that is pure truth!!!

I've been in aviation for over 35 years and 20,000+ hrs and for the first time in all my years I have never read such infantile B.S. regarding PSA or any other group of pilots. most of you clowns should be ashamed of yourselves. I suggest you put on your big boy pants and grow up for cripes sake! I've been there and done that old school when most of you were filling yer diapers.

PS-
Moderator keep up the good work. I know how you feel.

PSA guys....

Here is what disgusts me about your new TA passing.....Eagle MEC rejected it. The reason they rejected it is because it is pathetic. Who does management have left to turn to??
1. Piedmont
Piedmont would not vote in this TA in a million years. Period

2. Air Wisconsin
Wouldn't get past MEC

3. Republic Holdings
Can't staff what they have

4. Endeavor Air
No comment required

5. SKYW Holdings
Another mega regional with a full plate.

All you guys had to do is say No.

Every regional faces uncertainty. Eagle has been "for sale" for a long time. Air Wisconsin contract is up in 2015. Etc.

The bottom line is you guys collectively voted YES. You took the easy road. It is disappointing. No voters---you failed to educate the "yes voters." Yes voters---you have lowered the bar for the regional industry. Congratulations, your parent company is making record profits, amidst a multi billion dollar merger. You just accepted lower wages, terrible work rules, and have lost whatever respect you had from your peers.

Long road ahead for PSA guys. The decision your group made wasn't easy, but the group has taken the easy road. It is going to be interesting over the coming months/years. The new wages/rules that you've voted in now makes you guys amongst the least attractive regional carriers.

The only hope for the rest of us is that eventually your management team won't be able to staff their new airplanes

First, theres no changes to work rules. Second, us no voters did all we could to educate as many people as possible, but you see we have day jobs like flying the line. Unlike our mec who set up days and days of roadshows to push their agenda. How do we compete with that? Lastly, how many time have you been told, "vote no and we'll shut down". Then go and vote NO? Me....once a few weeks ago. You? Judge us all you want, but im a known quantity and can hold my head high.
