Before I hit 'confirm' on stop-over, just wanted to verify that the Purdy Neat Stop-over 22" fits in the flight deck baggage compartment of the CRJ?

Also, was considering Scotts 8" flight bag...does anyone have any specific experience with that particular bag?

Thanks!

22" fits in the overheads and under the last row seats.

Nah.

If you know how to pack light (and you will learn...) 22" is plenty of room. I was able to pack enough for 5 RSV days in mine, but I only bring a couple uniform shirts, one pair of pants, and maybe 2 changes of 'civilian clothes' on a trip, along with all the essentials.

I know a few people who use the bigger PNT bag; it also fits in the overheads but I'm not sure about under the seats. Unless you're gonna be gone for 6 days, I'd say pass on the extra expense & weight.

You can always get a bigger bag, but.... You will have to put it into the cargo compartment. The rampers will play catch with it, with no intention of catching it. Drag it through a puddle of jet fuel. Maybe even pee on it a little. Then, once it is finally in the back..... It will "accidentally" get pulled on leg 2 of day one, and you will have no idea that your luggage is in XXX when really you are somewhere else hours later trying to go to the hotel.

haa yeah I saw that on their website too, but my $.02 is that you CANNOT go wrong with spending the 275 on the Purdy, I personally had the Travelpro Crew something or ever and it lasted all of 10 months, and everyone else that I know that bought that Travelpro had them fall apart sooner than I did! Had the Purdy 22 for over a year now, and it is indestructable

I have a standard David Clark stereo headset, but I know that can get uncomfortable on long flights....should I just stick with this or is there a headset you ERJ guys swear by? I want to get opinions from people who have been there, before I invest in a new one. Those lightweight headsets looks nice, I was looking at the Sennheiser series, but would that provide adequate noise protection in the ERJ? Is there a particular one most guys use? If not I can always just use my good 'ole David Clark that I've had since my commercial training.

It's pretty loud in the ERJ. Your David Clark ought to be fine unless your hearing's marginal like mine. I have a Lightspeed ENR headset- very light and very comfortable. Use your DC headset for now, there's no rush to get into anything different until you find out for yourself whether the noise will be an issue IMHO

IMO every headset gets uncomfortable during long flights (I have a Bose and that thing will start to pinch after awhile). Find something that fits your head the best, and if you're really worried about noise levels and you don't have ANR...well...ear plugs do the same thing at the cost of $0.00 at your local airport.

99.9% of the guys I fly with use the ones in the cockpit anyways.
