How would skywest even staff the 38 900's for NWA
They have 11 or so more coming for Delta
They are still finishing up the 700's transfer from ASA
They are getting 12 700's from Comair
There is attrition with United pilots going back, plus pilots leaving elsewhere
The brasilia upgrade i have heard is almost 5 months

You add 38 more planes on top of that and that is at least 400 more pilots on top of what you already need

Growing too fast can cause growing pains, and it can also cause accidents like 3701

I hope your management knows that because you guys have had a good safety record.

If Skywest wins this flying there is nothing we can do to stop it, so I won't be bashing any skywest pilot that walks through the terminal becuase it is not his fault. In all honesty though, I really hope you guys don't get it because you have grown enough and its time for an ALPA carrier to get some growth.

There are very good points here about rapid growth, but SKW's recent hiring practices appear to reflect an effort to MASSIVELY stack their CRJ deck with ex-121 pilots who can qualify as CRJ captains immediately or within months. Why do you need people like that in the right seat? Other airlines use 200-600 hour wonders...somethings going on here.

But to me it still seems that the red-tail stuff is likely to stay where it's.

SkyWest Inc will get the contract and they will probably give it to ASA cause of our SKW/UX contract out of DEN.

As for the NWA flying, I have also heard (From VP's) that SKW Inc. will be getting some of the flying. Although I don't understand why, we are already short staffed. Pinnicle and Mesaba need it more than we do.

Has anyone also heard the rumors that MAG's UX flying in ORD & BNA is going to be put up for bid? There have been some rumors the UX is extremely unhappy with MAG and is looking to replace them.

Wonder if that would mean a Denver hub for ASA?

ESPECIALLY the Mesaba guys.

How could they be unhappy with the flying out of BNA and ORD but satisfied with the feeder service to Dulles?

The biggest flaw with the rumor is NWA has only ordered 36 -900's (officially).

I heard a rumor that SKW will be opening up a Dulles base in the next year.

I also heard that SKW is planning on a BNA hub. I'm sure that if MAG looses their UX flying that SKW also benefit from it, as well as a few others.

Suck for MAG pilots but maybe Mgmnt will get the message.

Highly doubt SW will get the 900's. If I had to guess, it will be Mesaba.
