Really? I think you should read it one more time.

I got into it because its what I love doing...and still do despite the current circumstances. I think they will get better eventually as this is a cyclical business. Its definitely not all about money. There are many other things I could do that would make me alot more money but that I have no interest in.

I do it now because I like the people I work with. It may at times be hard to believe, but most of us are above average in intelligence. It's a good peer group.

I have many many reasons.

1) I enjoy seeing the world for free and flying first class everywhere. (last non-rev flight was last Sept and took 32 hours getting back home).
2) Staying in great hotels on somebody else's dime is awesome. (Try a not yet remodeled or under construction La Quinta. It's a hoot).
3) Love the thrill I get from the respect and admiration given to me while in uniform. (Specially from TSA and other airlines' gate agents).
4) Lets not forget the exotic meals we get try. (Who would have thought peanuts and pretzels are a staple food everywhere).

And that's just some of those reasons. :)

In all honesty, overall I do love my profession.

I became a pilot because I never wanted to do anything else. Why does a kid want what he wants?

I remain a pilot because, as it turns out, I am totally awesome at it. It would be criminal to go do something else and deprive the public of my talent.

I drive my cars in the left seat for my entire life, so I'd figure I would get the right arm tan be being a regional FO my entire life.

When I was in third grade I sat near the window. I was often caught staring out the window with my mind no where near the classroom. My teacher told me that no one would pay me to sit and stare out a window. From that day forward I wanted to prove her wrong. Guess I showed her.

That's why I became a pilot.
