There is absolutely no reason to vote for concessions. Call their bluff. There will be tons of opportunity in the unlikely event your company decides to shrink or shut down.

This sounds more like management propaganda to repeal the "new regulations" that are preventing pilots from being available. And it also says cooperation is required to solve the problem. How much cooperation do you see between mainline and regionals to address the staffing issues? The only thing I see is a demand to maintain low costs at regionals, and when that fails, they cut service when the failure is assured. Great solutions. I guess that is going to be the only way to get Congress to repeal/modify the 1500 hr law.

I don't mean to rain on anyones little rant or parade but......If this is alook at the next 8 years let us comapre what will happen to things outside of needing pilots to the mix to keep this "shortage" realistic. There are companies looking into flying airplanes with NO PILOTs using just technology. I think it will start with FedEx /UPS because passengers won't be afraid. Is it...all that unreasonable that we go to one pilot with small planes? We like to have people to blame but like it or not if cars are now being designed so they can not hit each other we know where they are at all times, excetera and so on. What makes us think the technology won't apply to planes in the future? And by future I mean the next 20 years, In 10 one of these ideas will hit and the "shortage" will be a non issue. Most of us take 10 years to get a careeer so you better live lean and LOVE what you do.

This law doesn't make sense unless....you are the airline making the millions of dollars off the regulation. A way to gain free labor under the disguise of safety. There is always a way around the middle class.

It's conceivable that one day technology will replace all jobs in all fields. That's what we're striving for right? If not then it's senseless to improve anything. One day humanity will have no choice but to switch from a monetary economy to a resource based economy. Someday someone will invent the transporter putting all airlines out of business. Seems far fetched but someone once said airplanes would have no practical commercial value.
