Default Airline sim training/rides

I was curious as to what a final checkride before IOE in the level D sim is like. What kind of things do you do? Just approaches and engine outs, or other things as well? Thanks!

For the most part yes, approaches with the full missed approach procedure and single engine stuff(V1 cut, engine failure on a go around, se ils, se non-precision), we also do stalls up at 10,000, they are also looking at your use of checklists, flows, CRM, etc. I may have forgotten a couple of things.

Red face Stressful

It was 2hrs a for each of us. Myself and Sim partner. Fours total. 3hr Oral for both of us prior to the Sim ride. Single engine App, Single engine app with circle to land, V1 cut, engine outs, Efis malfunctions, NDB hold single engine. Oh, yea Stalls, Slow flight, steep turn. All kinds of good stuff. The good news is they cannot fail more than one system at a time. For example you cannot have an engine failure on T.O with the auto feather failure as well. For reference my ride was for FO BE1900.

All of the above and more; It depends on the instructor and the students. At my company you know you are doing well when you have multiple unrelated failures. That usually means that the check-airman likes what he sees, has most likely passed you in his head and just wants to load you up.

We also routinely get an engine cut wit a 90degree turn starting at 70ft off runway heading with no auto-feather (got that on the 2nd day initial sim and the checkride).
