Perhaps I was living under a rock... but, no, I don't remember that. Interesting story.
My Google-fu is failing to produce any evidence on the investigation cited in the article (plenty of hits ca. 22 Mar 2008 re the incident, but no follow-up). Anything published on that? Curious to know the outcome, simply because "the gun went off" stated in most of the articles is nonsense. The trigger was pulled--whether that was the result of mis-handling or of poor procedures is the real question....

It's not the Zombie. It's the government shutting down ammunition makers by buying their corporations.the last US smelting plant has closed. Now it'll have to be imported from overseas. But the government controls imports. So they won't allow it in. So yes. I'm hoarding my ammo.

When I think of the mythical ammo shortage I am reminded of P.T. Barnum and suckers. Congrats to the ammo industry for creating demand by making up this shortage in the not to distant future. Wonder how many years it will take before they have to switch tactics, maybe decades is a better tool to measure.
