21,000 dollar a year regional job interview, sweatpants and an old T shirt.

As others have said, business casual unless you're paying your own way on SWA. Nonrevs often get seated in the same area so you who knows who you might be next to. Don't wear a suit on the plane.
Other than that, just be polite to everybody...nobody expects an applicant to know nonrev/JS etiquette. Everybody who is from out-of-town probably stays at the company hotel, including interviewers, sim instructors, pilots in training, pilots on overnight, etc. |
^^^Very true

Fun story, early 2004 I had an interview at TSA. Was a 135 freight guy at the time and had a friend killed flying 135 freight so decided it was a good time to head to the regionals. Wore my suit to STL. Stayed in the HoJo that night, & headed down to the bar because I'd been to that HoJo bar a number of times while interning at TWA & had some good memories. Talked to a few local bubbas, didn't tell anyone I was there for an interview with an airline. Next morning I show up for the interview and among the interview panel recognized several faces from the night before, though nobody I had talked to. I thought I did very well on the interview. I ended up NOT getting the job offer, only interview in my life I didn't get hired, and at a notoriously easy interview at the time.
Wrinkle is that the morning of the interview I got an interview offer at Horizon, which I'd been trying to get into for ~ a year. So did I pis$ someone off at the bar who remembered me, or fail to charm someone on the commute in - or was I that clearly not into it because of the QX offer? I dunno, still kinda wondering about that one, while at the same time thanking my lucky stars that I didn't get into TSA as I would have been screwed by the GoJet debacle. |
Not saying you did it but worst thing to do when interviewing is having that "if I don't get this job at least I have another..." mentality. That will really come across to the panel.

if it is a dead end job, don't apply and waste your time! |
Thanks for all the input, travel docs said business attire on the plane and during interview so had to wear suit on the plane but pressed it that everning before the interview.
I was surpised one guy wasnt wearing a coat or tie at the interview, just kaki pants and a button up shirt. |

Just wear business casual while commuting. Tucked in polo/shirt and slacks/khakis. Don't wear jeans or the gate nazi's will get you... |
