Default RAA Convention about supply and demand

This video from two years ago clearly shows that management teams know they have to pay us more and make this career more lucrative, including roger cohen. Lets stick it to them.

Thank You for posting that. it is the first time I ever saw roger cohen take off his plaid used car salesman suit and speak honestly. These guys all said the shortage was on them in '08, but age 65 and the recession forestalled it.

The head of UND actually said foreign airlines were offeringto take 1000 hr CFI's and positive space them 1st class to Asia. 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. What happened to that gig?!

For those who don't think majors will avoid hiring from their own regionals to stop attrition in their feed, think again. The head of Cape Air let it slip that the hired a bunch of check airman from somewhere and caught hell for it, but then he stopped himself in mid sentence to be "careful of legalities" he said.

They all pointed out that the whole world, including Canada recognizes the MPL. A path to being an airline pilot has to be created. Anyone remember Comair Academy or MESA College?

The did mention that pilot shortage has been a buzzword for 4 decades--and it never happens. However, this time due to foreign demand, it's different.

The take away. Airlines need to create a path to the ailrines, govt. needs to allow loans for it, MPL needs to be considered.

I think all the airlines would have to do is sponsor some kind of 2 yr. community college course, then get a rope-a-dope to sign a 10 yr. training contract. problem solved. Especially if they can get the FAA to approve more level D sim training and force them to accept MPL.

I think MPL with 1500TT is a good idea.

Yep get the new guys a MPL. They can be cruise pilots in an RJ. That will cure the problem.

I'm NOT saying that, THEY are. I agree w/ you. MPL sent AF 447 to the bottom of the Atlantic, and that's what ALPA needs to say.

What exactly would the point be?

If the person can make their way to 1500TT, why would need to get an MPL rather than a normal certificate?
