Not saying it will happen again but I believe horizon has closed the Boise base before. Just a thought, all of the horizon crews I have jumpseated with before seemed happy though.

Worst case scenario if they close it you'll go to PDX/SEA not the worst commute. I was BOI based for a few bids it was real nice out there. Cost of living isn't bad and there's plenty of fun to be had out there. Enjoy QX and enjoy BOI life's to short to worry about all the other garbage.

Food for thought. SkyWest is building what might be their largest MX base in Boise. There is a lot of speculation to more flying originating there (DL or AS maybe), because at the moment its not that big of a market to justify a massive hanger worth tens of millions. Boise city I think threw some money at the project too. My point: its likely Boise may become a SKW domicile at some point. We have domiciles at about every other MX base, and they would be much smaller than Boise (Ex. FAT, COS, PSP, TUS). Even if you don't get a home base, SFO, PDX, DEN, SLC, LAX and SEA are commutable.

The news of the MX base is official, as well as statements saying it may be our largest. Everything else is conjecture.

Until all the folks that live there start commuting with you.

Example, PIT-PHL.

When they opened the 3 new bases a couple years back, a massive percentage of the company was turned into commuters. I was really junior, and still never got bumped. I had to use the commuter policy once, due to a pair of consecutive mechanical cancellations.

17 flights per day on your own metal isn't that bad.
