I'm going to be moving to Boise Idaho and would like to work for horizon anyone know what my chances are to get hired with them or other regionals that I could work for out of there that wouldn't be to bad of a commute?

Why are you moving to Boise? If the answer is a girl (or a guy), this does not end well.

Don't lock yourself into Horizon or any other carrier. When you get a job that you think you can handle (or that has the quick upgrade, or the airplane you want to fly, or the least bad pay of the offers you are getting, etc.), move for the job. You won't have to commute, you can make extra money in base, and you will, on the whole, be much happier.

I know I know haha it is for a girl but that's where I'm going to go and I'm not sure if I want to stay in the airlines I'm just ready to go on to something else!

Horizon and Skywest are your two best bets. Apply to both, take the one thy hires you. Commuting is tough.

Going to disagree with this one big time. Only you can decide where you want to live. Chasing an upgrade is at the end of the day a gamble. It might pay off big, or you may be stuck in the right seat at a company you can't stand. Going to an airline because they have an airplane you want to fly is an even worse idea. Who cares what you fly as long as it pays the bills (and hopefully isn't going away soon). Treat this decision like one you will have to live with for quite a while... Commuting wears on you in ways no description can do justice. Living in base is a HUGE improvement in QOL.

As far as Horizon, your times definitely are competitive. Hiring is supposedly continuing indefinitely, so you shouldn't have a problem getting an interview.

I'm not suggesting that he chase an upgrade. I only put that in parenthesis because that's what some people will do; likewise with choosing a plane to fly (jet vs. turboprop is one example, or avoiding an airline with a dying fleet [50 seat RJs]).

I totally agree with the mantra that you may have to live with the decision for a while. In fact, I counsel those who ask to assume that a regional job may be the only job they ever get, for reasons beyond their control. Using that as one of your base lines is smart...as is not commuting if it can be avoided.

This.

Don't find a job and then move for it, unless it's an absurdly good opportunity. Build your life where and how you want to. If that's with a girl in Boise, then do it. Aviation is a job to facilitate your life, not the other way around.

Your quality of life living in Boise at Horizon will be pretty good. Apply as soon as possible. If you meet the minimums, you're competitive.

Read this again. Too many people think otherwise, and are all wrong.

Apologies... Definitely short on sleep this evening and I misinterpreted your meaning.
