Yeah, because that's what real men do: sit at a dying regional, commuting to a distant city, on reserve, gone 20+ days per month, paying for a crash pad or hotel, with no hopes of upgrade, and no chances of holding holidays/birthdays/family events off. Very manly...

9E attrition as of early November. Already 50+ for the month.

So how far into your decade at Endeavor are you?

I'm at the same spot I would be if I went to any other regional. I guess I would be a captain if I went to GoJets but other than that I would basically be in the same spot at most of the other regionals I was looking at when I started at Endeavor.

Exaggerate much? The chart above shows the numbers, not a single month with that high of FO attrition, more captains have left than FOs.

Has anyone here thought that being at a regional might be IT? As in no major option, no LCC option, just a career at regional XX. I've been around long enough to know that, no matter how big the hiring boom, some don't get hired, maybe they don't interview well, they don't part their hair right, whatever. I've seen loads of great pilots stuck, wondering why the parade passed them by.

If you consider this, NOW is the time to look at any alternatives.

What difference does it make who has the pants if there's nothing in the pockets?

As in money

No need to take offense to it. I wasn't trying to undermine the hard work anyone has put into their career nor was I trying to take a stab at anyone. It just seems that a lot of people on here are always angry but w.e. I was just giving my .02 best of luck to you.

I think many of us are fed up with the pay and benefits in this "profession" heading in the wrong direction for far too long. Management has managed to lower the pay to the point that it is almost impossible to justify the expenditure necessary to become employable as a professional pilot.

Things will have to change with the laws of economics. Either the supply of labor will have to be increased, or the demand of it be lowered. I hope it's a combination of the supply of labor being increased through higher pay/more attractive compensation, and the demand being lowered through more airlines taking flying in house.

Good luck with those 81 seaters American, awfully short sighted!

I used to think I could make career out of the regionals, until I got in and found it is just littered with story's of whipsawing, 5 year upgrades, downgrades, and pilots going from making close to 6 figures, and then starting all over again at poverty wages.
