ExpressJet Airlines News?

I will second the LAX base. Here at ASA they drastically reduced the expansion out in LA. It is basically a forgone conclusion from many on the top here at ASA that Express Jet will be the new Delta Connection out in LA. You have then planes and are willing to take a fairly good hit just to have them fly and make some sort of revenue.
As for the LAX thing, it might be possible especially with our Mexico presence and with Delta starting flights from LAX to several places in Mexico. But I would still be surprised if that happened.

That is the dumbest thing. There are NO territories that are exclusive to an airline. You should know that from where you work. As soon as the major can get the flying done cheaper they will abandon what ever company is doing it for them, even if it is "their territory".

The LA rumor would be new to me but anything is possible. Check out the investors call at the end of this month for the press release. Should answer alot of questions.
I see Delta adding some other feeders in the mix. If Delta gives everything to Skywest then they are back in the same boat they were in with Comair. They dont want 1 company to control to much of their feed. Its all BS till it happens. I guess we will know soon enough.

My guess is some of the legs are the new routes that people are talking about. Notice, TUS-ABQ-ONT-BOI-GEG-MCI etc. Basically most of the places you mentioned (were those a guess or did they come out in a company news letter?). They are probably going to those places to set up operations there.
We'll know the news as far as bases by Feb 1 when our perm bid comes out.

Not a guess. Check out www.expressjet.com and look at the recent job postings. There are open positions for Ops managers at each of those locations..... Branded flying will be flying by April 1....

He also said CAL may be reconsidering the CHQ decision (since we threw a wrench into the works by keeping the XRs and the newest LRs and there were issues getting the CRJs online) so that may have something to do with why the announcement keeps getting pushed back.Haven't heard a word about SLC and it would surprise me given the DAL/SKYW relationship there. Flying for DAL out of LAX to Mexico makes more sense but I haven't heard anything about that either. Have heard rumors about Delta in general but that Delta was moving too slow making their decision.

Why on earth would delta who is chp 11, give xjt JUST 10 planes out of a base that is dominated by skywest who is cheaper and has the people and infastructure in place. It seems like they are trying to put the squeez on skywest. BUT SKYWEST IS NONUNION AND WE FLY 700/900s FOR LESS THAN ANYONE!! Why the hell did jerry allow this? Maybe we ARE getting those 80 planes and we need 10 50s to put on the midex side so we don't get swamped with those 80 from the rfp?
They're probably doing it just to see how far they can get SkyWest guys like you (not all SkyWest pilots) to bend over!
