Express doesn't need to take a "hit" just to keep the planes flying. We could have taken a "hit" and kept flying them for CAL. Our management didn't want to fly the planes if it wasn't going to bring in a certain amount of revenue. We can make more money if we just park the planes then to fly them for what CAL wanted us too, so why would we do that for Delta.

As for the LAX thing, it might be possible especially with our Mexico presence and with Delta starting flights from LAX to several places in Mexico. But I would still be surprised if that happened.

That is the dumbest thing. There are NO territories that are exclusive to an airline. You should know that from where you work. As soon as the major can get the flying done cheaper they will abandon what ever company is doing it for them, even if it is "their territory".

The LA rumor would be new to me but anything is possible. Check out the investors call at the end of this month for the press release. Should answer alot of questions.

I see Delta adding some other feeders in the mix. If Delta gives everything to Skywest then they are back in the same boat they were in with Comair. They dont want 1 company to control to much of their feed. Its all BS till it happens. I guess we will know soon enough.

They are not. I think they just gave some to Pinnacle.

Not a guess. Check out www.expressjet.com and look at the recent job postings. There are open positions for Ops managers at each of those locations..... Branded flying will be flying by April 1....

We'll know the news as far as bases by Feb 1 when our perm bid comes out.

Good find! I flew with a check airman a while back who said Jim Ream had sat down with the class of new check airman and basically confirmed most of the rumors. ONT is a go with point-to-point flying around the west coast (he mentioned most of the places there by name as well as a few others) starting in April. The new airplanes are supposed to have new seats, XM radio and $1 beers He also said CAL may be reconsidering the CHQ decision (since we threw a wrench into the works by keeping the XRs and the newest LRs and there were issues getting the CRJs online) so that may have something to do with why the announcement keeps getting pushed back.

Haven't heard a word about SLC and it would surprise me given the DAL/SKYW relationship there. Flying for DAL out of LAX to Mexico makes more sense but I haven't heard anything about that either. Have heard rumors about Delta in general but that Delta was moving too slow making their decision.

Maybe we ARE getting those 80 planes and we need 10 50s to put on the midex side so we don't get swamped with those 80 from the rfp?
Good for you!!! You also fly them for less than a lot of guys fly 50 seaters! They're probably doing it just to see how far they can get SkyWest guys like you (not all SkyWest pilots) to bend over!
