Buy a sailplane. Fly "by the seat of your pants."

Couldn't agree more. While I like the IFR flying at places like LGA there is nothing more stress free than the weekend fair weather flying.

I have owned two airplanes, both experimental (Rutan Verieze and a Velocity).

in my opinion, experimental is the way to go for speed and extreme low cost of operation and up keep!!

email me if you are interested in more info...

oh, also a great way to rack up hours!!!!!!!!!!!

Most pilots will never afford a plane (at least those of us with houses and families). Renting is the best and cheapest option. You have to fly a lot to justify owning. I've been looking into gliders myself. I've taken a few lessons a long time ago and enjoyed it.

The new "inexpensive" LSAs that are coming out look promising.

Inexpensive my a$$. The ones that look like frikkin go carts cost almost $100K. If you are that desperate to fly get a J3, most bang for the buck.
