Not sure exactly who these guys are or if you can jumpseat but they fly Beckley, WV to CLT?

In regards to ROA, I'm based and live here with PDT. It's either full or empty. All you need is one cancellation to screw that up too. Morning flights tend to be easier to get on. I've done the drive from CLT and LYH multiple times. Also the lowest minimums for ROA are 500-1 so when the rest of the east coast is 200 and 1/2 everything to ROA cancels. We had 3 days right before Christmas that nothing got into or out of ROA. Just food for thought. It's not impossible but sometimes you have to get creative.

On that note, to get from IAD to DCA:
Take the Washington Flyer bus from IAD to the West Falls Church Metro station. Catch it at the upper level. IIRC it runs every 30 minutes and costs $4 one way for uniformed crew. Then catch the Metro to DCA. You will have to change trains once. Googling the DC Metro will give you the route map.

Now that the first phase of the Silver Line is open, the Wash Flyer bus goes from IAD to Reston-Wiehle (end of the line) - then train it to Rosslyn and change to the Blue line to get to DCA. Going to IAD is the reverse. I don't know if the fare has changed - with the Silver Line, I now have a viable option to Metro it from DCA and get a princess pickup at Wiehle

Anyone know how to find out if they are in CASS. Looked up jumpseat carriers on ALPA's website, but it hasn't been updated since 2011

If you hit everything just right, total time from IAD to DCA is about 40 minutes, but it can take up to an hour or more.
DCA to CLT can be tough also. The second jumpseat on the Airbus saved my bacon more than once.
This is getting complicated, eh? Drive to ROA. If you get out, good. If not, it is about a 2 1/2 hour drive to CLT. If you can't get out of CLT to ROA, go in with the other SA's on a rental car.

That will make life a lot easier for those trying to commute in and out of both airports or when you come in at one, but need to get to the other.

Yup just as he said. Although very soon I think the Metro will go all the way to IAD. It is the new Silver line I believe. I don't know if its operating yet or when it will, but if it hasn't it should be soon.

I can confirm that BKW would probably be your best bet. They do have a new carrier fly 2 roundtrips a day to CLT depending on where your coming from. For the most part, I think they are pretty reliable and haven't had many maintenance based cancellations. They are flying the EMB 120's, so as long as your in CASS you should be able to hop on with them.
