Does it start when hired or does it start on day 1 of indoc? I'm assuming most companies have policy that seniority starts when the pilot shows up for training?

Indoc is usually the first thing they teach you. So you're basically asking if seniority is assigned on day one or day two.

To clarify, I'm wondering if seniority starts when training begins.

Yes, that is normally the case with very few exceptions these days.

Your hire date is Day Two. In-class seniority is determined by date of birth.

I've also heard it starts when training is started. With some guys now being sent to the CPC to get the ATP knocked out, then their seniority may be set up differently at that point.

Oh, sorry, my bad. To the OP: your question depends on what company you're talking about. My answer above was specific to Mesa. (Brain fart on my part, thought this was in the Mesa thread.)

How do some do this with social? Is it the lowest last digit or ?

And for birthdays, is it oldest in the class or whoever has the earliest birthday?

Thanks!

Some do it by social - lowest social is most senior

Most do it by age - oldest is most senior.
