MEC SPECIAL MEETING UPDATE





Fellow Pilots -



The MEC met in Euless today for a special meeting with AAG corporate executives. Representing AAG were Mr. Robert Isom, Mr. Kenji Hashimoto and our CEO Mr. Pedro Fabregas. The MEC had expected Mr. Isom, and found it positive that AAG also sent Mr. Hashimoto to the meeting since AAG Officers have not met with any other regional MEC in recent memory. The MEC had requested this meeting with AAG to seek clarity on the future of our airline.



The MEC articulated the concerns of the pilots and asked the tough questions, which the AAG executives answered candidly. Mr. Isom acknowledged that retaining pilots needs to be a high priority and Mr. Hashimoto and Mr. Fabregas were to meet later in the day back at HQ to chart solutions. We impressed upon them that these are time critical initiatives and that action needs to come sooner rather than later.



We were informed that our pilot applications have significantly increased each month since signing the new CBA, however attrition still remains higher than anticipated.



It is the MEC’s position that the company must aggressively pursue significant improvements to our working conditions, strive to improve employee morale, and establish a retention program that will give our pilots a reason to stay here.



While the meeting left the MEC members with a positive opinion of the plans AAG has for our airline, there can be no mistaking that up until this point we have witnessed very few actions. That said, the good faith shown by AAG of sending top leaders to meet with us, to acknowledge the issues facing our airline, and to commit to immediately working to address those issues cannot be discounted.



The MEC will continue working to advance our pilots’ agenda and awaits a timely response from management.

Hope it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, sharing your Union's news to the world before your own colleagues that are working have had the chance to see it.

I'd have to agree that this is not the place for Union communications.

Why not? What's the harm in sharing this with other pilot groups?

Really this place right now is populated by pilot groups benefiting from the demise of envoy. You think they want to hear anything even remotely good? Do you think they will wish us well, or just bash? Why bother? If pilots from other tegionals want to hear this stuff bad enough, they can get it from their friends.

This is rich coming from a guy who does nothing but go around bashing other pilot groups....
