$30k we don't really have soft pay.

I think 30k is on the low side. If you go to a junior base and fly a lot I think 40k is likely, even more possibly if you pickup some trips.

A typical SKW pilot probably grosses about 15-20% over hourly rate in soft pay, ie block 1000, credit 1200. If you want to max out gross, bid for trips with soft time (DHD, MDG, Duty Rig). Also everybody but new-hires gets 24 hours holiday pay each year (unless you call in sick for the holiday). |
youll credit around 1100-1200 hours a year just multiply that by your hourly rate and you'll be close.

You'll lose that $2k to costs like a crash pad if you commute expensive insurance if you go the PPO route and uniforms docked from your paycheck your first year.

I was getting a ton of soft time when I was brand new, especially on reserve breaking guarantee. Credit 76-80 hours (block even less) and getting paid for 100.
I flew a lot of stand ups but my first year I blocked 650 and credited 890. I hit the line the last week of March and was in ground the last week of Jan. |
