This CEO is a clear case of a human ego gone awry. When this sort of thing happens its a red flag to the rest of us to run the other direction. Think of this in your dealings with other pilots and humans. Its one thing to observe and know of this man's faults but to judge him is only setting you back years of spiritual progression. In your dealings with him directly just forgive him and you'll make your life a heck of a lot more peaceful in the long run. Peace to you all.
I concur, hiphop sucks.

It used to be that JO could lure applicants with the promise of quick upgrade, and there was a mutual "screw you" factor between the two parties. JO screwed the pilots by treating them like crap, yet the pilots conversely screwed JO/Mesa by upgrading quickly, getting the required PIC, and moving on to bigger and better things...ASAP! In the good 'ol days, that could have been as little as 2-3 years at Mesa...somewhat of a small price to pay for getting hired at a major.
Now, the quick upgrade has vanished (excluding the Beech, which is a small portion of the Mesa fleet) and JO has nothing to motivate one to come to Mesa. NADA! No promise of mass airplane deliveries or pending new contracts...nothing! Attrition is at an all-time high, yet the applicant pool is practically empty. His world is crumbling down beneath him, yet his massive ego simply won't allow him to notice.
The fun is just beginning. The implosion continues...

I think you guys would all agree that if you were to suffer some sort of medical problem in flight as CA on a Mesa flight and that 300 hour FO had to drive the bus home you'd be a little screwed. I think JO's program of bringing in children to assist the captain is the dumbest idea I've ever heard of. I think its criminal to put those lives in danger with someone who has never experienced single pilot IFR (if that's the case, most haven't).
If JO is the reason for their attrition, then some investor is already licking his lips waiting for the kill to take over Mesa. Seems its too good of an opportunity to let the company wither on the vine.

I agree with your point completely though. I'll leave the question of low-time versus high-time FO's to someone else.
