Horsesht! How's that "wearin' the white hat" workin' out for RAH, Allegiant, and others? There are no "favors" at the NMB. If you give something away,..... you just give something away. It's time to start TAKING,.... not giving.

It's not about favors. Unions make up less than 7% of the population from over 50% and there is a large quantity of people who want to see the rest of that 7% go away. You're already bargaining in an anti-labor environment and by conducting illegal job actions, you'll lose any good standing with the NMB, your union offers could face jail time, and public perception will take a nose dive. So how does that help you again?

It's all about sending this message to your airline management: I'm Mad as Hell and I'm Not Going To Take It!

Or should we just continue to take the carrot, (or crumbs) and continue to bailout the company by picking up open time,....... because we want favors from the NMB?

Personally, I have refused to pick up any open time. I fly my schedule. Nothing more, nothing less. I urge you (and others) to do the same and I doubt anyone will go to jail for doing that.

Sack-up.

How in gods name by not picking up OT on your freakin day off an illegal job action? Dude your not working! ***? People can do whatever the hell they please when not working.

I seriously call BS that if a pilot, rounding up troops and getting them all to agree to not help the company out, (on their days off none the less) being an illegal job action. You are absolutely NOT REQUIRED to do anything work related on your day off at home.

Can someone please explain this? I seriously can't believe that to be true. If I don't want to pick up OT I certainly don't have to. No one is obligated.

Delta V Alpa 123 F. Supp. 2d 1356 (N.D. Ga. 2000)

Google that. It is illegal for employees or unions to encourage, coerce or intimidate other pilots into not picking up Open-time.

As an average Joe, you're still entitled to your opinion though, whether public or private.

Absolutely. If you feel that it wrong to not pick up open time, you can express your opinion and not pick it up. If, however, you being to coerce others, that is illegal.

How do you do that?
