Hey, I'm new around here. I'm hoping to get a major CJO sometime in the next few months, but will be out of work at the same time. I'm expecting 4-6 months without a paycheck. Does anyone have experience using a decent regional to keep current/earn a small paycheck (health insurance) while waiting to start training with someone else?

A CJO is just as implied, conditional. Until you are actually in class with a seniority number in hand anything can happen. Therefore, if you are going to be unemployed for 4-6 months, there is no harm at all in applying to a regional or anyone else for that matter. However make sure anything you do in the interim does not affect your CJO. Your PRIA check will include your most recent employer. Many are "using" regionals to get current or to get on with someone "better." For what the regionals pay the first year and second, they deserve it. It's actually fun to see these airlines scrambling for qualified applicants! I don't even have a current medical and was emailed for immediate interviews twice this month. By the way, looks like Piedmont is catching up to AWAC on the poll.
