Once you get there instead of upgrading in 6-8 years now it will be 8-12. The bottom line is that a fraction will chose to work past 60 and be able to. I just don't think (in my opinion) that it will have that much effect, some but not as much as most are saying.

You are out of your mind!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have no idea what this is going to do!!!!!!! You are going to be stuck in that Old Turbo-Prop for 5 more years, 5 more years of Gargbage pay and garbage lifestyle. And you will be making first year "legacy" pay when your 40 not 35!!!!!!!!!!! Your a bit niave

not true. what you aren't taking into account is this will happen to everyone, and then it will catch up with itself. the only problem i really have with this rule is that of safety, not upgrade times. if you start at 35 and fly till you are 60 that is 25 years as captain, you start at 40 and fly to 65, then you will still be a captain for 25 years. Once you are at a carrier that you are ready to call your carreer, their second year fo pay is usually more than a 10 year captains pay at a regional. Also most of the Pay scales at the majors cap out at 12 years. Now i understand that most people dont want to wait to move on and up, but i feel that it will all just catch up to itself and most everyone wont even notice a change. just remember, i know a couple of retired pilots that had to do some stupid jobs till they turned 65 so they could start claiming their retirement.
