Aern't they required to do that and shouldn't every pilot in such a situation have an opportunity to have their day in court so to speak where an arbitrator will decide if the company's actions were justified ?

That is part of the very CBA all pilots work under.

Well, I hope if you are ever in a similar situation, your colleagues respect your privacy more than you are of his.


And of course the Union is going to represent him. They have represented drunks, thiefs, and those who have assaulted crewmembers and passengers. Just because you may pay dues doesn't entitle you to be personal involved in all activities.
