Interesting you say that. I've been gunning for the big airline in the southeast since I was a kid. Both parents worked there and it was always my dream. All pilots that I was around my whole life gave me the exact same advice of not doing aviation universities and getting a separate degree. Don't worry about GPA because they just wanted a four year degree. So I chose a state school and did political science of all things which is rather difficult. Because of that my GPA is not good either. Fast forward to now and despite being a legacy (which they have done away with that helping you), a CA at a regional, and volunteer time, I'm basically struggling to even be in the middle of the pack because they view aviation universities and GPA as the holy grail. Who knew?

Didn't quite say what? My only point is that it's not just for new hires. And then you said they are a ploy. And I said that is beside my point.

No. Not just for new-hires. It's meant to "help" everyone decide if they're really too sick to make it to work from now until their interview number comes up. Now that's the way to staff an airline...

I guess if you are weak. Or you can apply through regular channels like everyone else that isn't eligible.

If you choose to opt out of the XJT Pathway Program... doesn't that make it look like you have something to hide? I don't think opting out of it will be looked at as a positive. This gives them real data, where outside the Pathway they had to believe what you told them. I predict a sharp reduction in sick time usage on the ERJ side.

I'm saying this is designed to get people to not call in sick because now they are being monitored. A lot more sick people will be coming to work because of this because they don't want to hurt their Pathway data-read when their number comes up. Going through regular channels makes it look like you want to hide your "dependability" record from them actually seeing it.

It depends.... i know an an RJ captain that just got hired at UA without a degree. He did a bunch of volunteer stuff with an association and raised money for them .

Who said anything about opting out? You can still apply off the street while staying on the program. If you are weak minded, you will come in to work sick. For me, if that disqualifies me from ever working for anyone else, so be it. I have a plan b, do you?

I'm assuming we know the same person as I worked with him in the association.
