They were going to file all along. They wanted to get a pilots contract in place first. It was no coincidence and the timing wasn't either.

Considering that what put the company here in the first place was a reduction in departures due to attrition, it would be business suicide to cause a mass exodus of pilots in this bankruptcy. If a merger/buyout is on the table, Republic is only marketable to mainlines as a source of aircraft and pilots. It will be in its interest to maintain value by holding on to as much staff as possible.

Yup.

The question then is what reorganization plan accomplishes this ?

A merger AA/US Airways style.

Then you both are in for a long career! Can't even handle a response from an anonymous person, who happens to be right? Good luck.

I disagree.

The aircraft they want to eject from is actually still parked in the hangar.

Some people are less sensitive about this subject than others, sorry about that. The volatility in the industry as well as how commonplace bankruptcy's have become among airlines makes it somewhat of a laughing matter for some people as long as it's not their company.

As for what this means to you as a new hire, who knows? Pinnacle went bankrupt and now they're getting a 23k retention bonus with an interview program at Delta. It could be a poor outcome just as easily though, contract thrown out, loss of flying, etc.

In any case, none of that is going to be determined in the next week, month, or however long you have left in training. So for now, I would say just show up to training and do what you've been doing, get the type rating if you don't have it already and some experience on the line. Don't make any moves until you know more, which will probably be a while. If you've only been there 1 month, it's not going to hurt you to stay another month or so and have a successful training course completion on your record.

Sounds good.

the first sign this would eventually happen, sooner than later, was the tanking of the stocks in August. Anyone that decided RAH after August, I dont feel sorry for you. You should have done your research, or better yet, JUST read the news.

I feel sorry for the 2 and 2+ year pilots for RAH. You guys worked hard, went thru sh***y pay, now that you guys have some seniority on your schedules and pay, you will need to go to the bottom of the barrel.

That sucks not only for you, because if RAH closes doors, there will be a lot of pilots out there, which gonna flood the "hiring market", making the "pilot shortage syndrome" fade away, which I hope does NOT stop the hike trend on pilots pay, across all regionals.

Just my 2cents
