we are actually getting weekly updates from management as well as the ability to see everything about the case on our intranet. Management has been pretty transparent through the whole process, and even sent an employee to stl to pay us personally the Friday following the announcement. Seems like 95% of you don't even work here so it's kind of funny you all speak as if you know everything that will happen. None of us know and that's just the fact of the matter and we are all keeping our options open.

Well Einstien, there is plenty of history out there for airline bankruptcies during this last decade. I've personally been through two, and so yes, I have a pretty good idea of how the bankruptcy proceedings work. Research for yourself and I don't think you'll find any where union contracts weren't touched. But hey, burry your head in the sand if you want to
Pilot contract wasn't touched in Mesa's bankruptcy a few years back but boy they shed just about every 50 seater they had!
Perhaps you should do YOUR research?!

There is not much to cut when there is nothing to start with. What were they going to do? Tell you that you now had to pay to sleep in the plane on a standup....

If it were 2,3 5, times better I could see an attempt to bring it down to the industry average( where it currently is)
I seriously doubt any attempts to change a mediocre contract. RAH is rushing thru the BK process, Even asking and getting requests to waive waiting periods. changing a labor contract is a long drawn out process, not going happen !!

It was a brand new (to them) contract and included many things that RAH just got, such as block or better and cancellation pay. So there were things that could've been cut but JO knew it would've been staffing suicide. Same now at RAH.

My memory might be bad but didn't the company try to cut it and they took it to the judge and the judge sided with the union that they were already under paid for the sector.
My memory might be off but I was an eagle union rep during bankruptcy and I think this was the case.
The new RAH contract is not below average for this sector. Also the judge can't force the main lines to pay RAH more money.
