Anyone know if allegiant is in financial trouble? Seems there has to be some explanation for the alleged MX shenanigans and pilot pushing. If they were just greedy and exploring new frontiers in cost cutting, it doesn't make sense to push it the point where public and FAA scrutiny was involved. If they're on double-secret probation and then have an accident they could easily get their ticket pulled and, unlike some airlines, allegiant is NOT too big to fail...

I think they will be fine as long as they take the necessary steps from a MX standpoint. The wife and I rode them for a little vacation just a few weeks ago and had a good experience. I was in the jumpseat on the way home, flight was packed. Crew was very friendly and told me to apply, seemed to like it there.

I also just got an email announcing a new destination in FL from where we live in the Midwest. If there is trouble there it isn't ovrwhelmingly obvious to me. I'd ride on them again.
