Gojet should not be considered an option by anyone under any circumstance. They have no long term plan and most of their planning seems to be towards winding up the corporation once the United contract ends in a few months. I saw it happen at other airlines I was with and it looks the same now.
Skywest is the long term player of all the regionals and they treat their people as they should be treated. Upgrade time is falling fast. They are getting a lot of planes. Gojet treats their employees like slaves and everything is illusory. Insurance is only there until you need it, then it is gone.
Avoid Hulas Kanolas airlines would be my recommendation, and that of many other people.

I wouldn't see a problem staying in base for TSA. American is letting STL die on the vine. There's a SWA base rumored to be in the works (hah). I'd take a look at Delta Private Jets too maybe? Home based. Any of the American wholly owned get you Jumpseat priority on AAL and each pilot group has priority on own metal. With full employee flight benefits for family. There's something for everyone out there. You'll do well, good luck!

I have known many many Gojet pilots and not one of them would recommend going there to anyone else. If you have choices you do not go to Gojet. There are companies that will home base you in addition to regionals. Check out Netjets although I am not up to date with them.
There are many options without going into the gutter with Hulas and Gojet. Gojet will not change until nobody will go there. They took a non-pilot out of the Navy and try and make people think he was a pilot in the Navy. He was made the chief pilot and then the DO. He knows nothing about how to do his job and they don't care because Gojet is not going to be here long. That is the reading of many, including me.
Ord is a quick hour away. You have lots of options.

They are, at Extended Stay near the airport, with a few folks at the one a little further out. Can't remember name, West Park or something. Hotels were a 2 out of 5, maybe 2.5. But served the purpose. TSA management is pretty proactive in handling any issue that you may have in training with any of the logistics, or so it seems. They appear to be willing to make sure you are content while there.

I'm assuming that if I live say, 40 minutes away from the training center (with worst-case traffic), I could just stay at home where I have Wife, kids, pool, recliner and a kick-ass dual tap beer kegerator system?
