Wouldn't hurt! One of my former students dad is a dispatcher for AA and he has been walking in a lot of resumes, all have gotten interviews. Try Claudette Carol, she would be a good start. She is the head of pilot recruitment. Chances are they will probable call you for an interview. Also fill out an app off of americaneaglecareers.com and that will get you in the system. With only 4 people showing up at the last ground school they will at least give you an interview if you have the mins. Good Luck! Study the ATP, get some sim time, know 121 rules, and know your jepps and you should be fine.

hey i posted this on flightinfo as well... I was just running through some numbers

If more than 45 a month happens wow

true someone who started 7 years ago got the big screw. But why I posted this was to show people who are looking into their future and not present time, how times are changing at eagle. Those 45 slots don't include the numbers we moved up due to senior FOs leaving which also gets you closer to upgrade.
someone just starting has about 1400 people ahead of them to upgrade. Lets say minus 300 flowback spots which should bring you to 1100

each upgrade can represent a captain leaving or an FO ahead of you in seniority leaving. It's fairly reasonable that you can expect at least 30 people senior to you to leave each month.

so with 1100 people to go through...
15 upgrades/FOs ahead of you leaving each month is about 6 years for an upgrade
30 a month is 3 years
45 a month is 2 years

only time will tell

I don't think it's reasonable to expect anything less than 3 years with the current numbers. That is still more than most places.

Yes they'll be hiring for a looooong time for attrition.

I moved up only 6 numbers this month (not counting the ATR pilots) and I've got over 2200 senior to me, so 30/mo continuously might be a bit optimistic once you're off the bottom of the list by a couple hundred.
