Hello all! This is ExpressJet's Pilot Recruiting team. I wanted to take a moment to address a few questions/concerns on the thread:
1. We have no plans to close our Dallas base.
2. We are a well run, stable company with a bright future. We will definitely be around long-term.
3. Most new hires can hold any base they'd like right out of training. Worst case scenario, within a month or two.
4. While we want pilot candidates to succeed, we do require a knowledge, skills and culture test as part of your in-person interview. ExpressJet pilots have a long history of professionalism, skill and customer service excellence (which is why the majors prefer our pilots), so we expect our new hires to be of the same caliber.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop by one of our many career fairs and industry events, or reach out to us at [email protected] or via our Facebook page - facebook.com/expressjetpilotrecruiting.
Thanks!
Courtney

The second most asinine post, behind yours. If all you can comment on out of that entire post is a jab at the fa's,and ignore the other serious points ,then nothing else needs to be said.

Fleet age is a useless number. Guess no one wants to go to Delta because they fly those old MD-88's.
We've picked up additional block hours for Delta in August and September. We will only take on the flying that we can staff. When we continue to tell people not to come here, it hurts the company and yourself even more.
But yet flight benefits that are better than other companies. With the exception of wholly owned airlines, ours are better. Skywest and us have much better Delta benefits than the other regionals, except Endeavour.
But go ahead and continue to lower the profession by scaring people away from here with doom and gloom, and shove them off to other crap hole operators.

Every airline has senior pilot groups within them. We may be senior, but it doesn't harm us from getting additional or keeping current flying. Delta rate reset is done, with favorable terms.

Definitely sound like a senior maybe lifer type. Remember everyone's perspective is different depending on one's view. The bottom half or possibly two thirds of the list is probably frustrated by better movement at other places. While you just want to protect what you already have. Kinda selfish if you ask me. Those extra block hours are temporary for August and September as Delta is dealing with replacing the Shuttle lift out east. And you fail to mention Express Jets reduced presence in Detroit to SkyWest and GoJet. How can you in good conscience tell people that everything will be grand and wonderful if you sugar coat everything and step up recruiting efforts? SkyWest is going to be SkyWest. I'm not sure why you can't see that
Detroit has only been reduced by about 20 flights per day. Who knows what will happen with Detroit, but management knows that they will lose quite a bit of pilots if DTW closes down.
I'm not sugar coating anything. Show me a regional that is doing so great and all the pilots are happpy. Guess what, all the regionals suck. It's what you make of it. This place isn't as bad as many others out there.

Yep, I'm a lifer of 5 years here. We are only doing short term flying contracts, nothing more. Movement at other places have stopped or slowed down. Some of them, cannot even staff what they have taken on for that quick movement.

" The only things that I can control is my effort and my attitude." I choose to be optimistic about ExpressJet. Yes right now our upgrade time is long, but that can change if we can get the new hires. The company isn't willing to take flying that 1. isn't profitable or 2. we can staff. That seems like good decision making to me. If we get the new hires upgrades time will change quickly.
We wont be closing on Dec. 31st 2017. First off the CRJ contracts go through 2020. Second, does anybody here believe that UAL gave the ERJ side an interview program to then pull all of the flying from that side a 1 1/2 later? The whole point of the program is to keep guys flying on that side until they interview. I might be delusional, but I think this place will be around for at least the next ten years or longer. Personal opinion, blast me if you want to.

Why do you say it's smart to not take on flying. Granted you can't staff it today, but doesn't extra flying usually come first before staffing ramps up? I don't know but it looks like that's how Skywest is doing it. Pretty damn sure if they wanted to entice people to Express Jet they'd find a way
Exactly. Trust me if you announce new dual class flying the airline will staff.( I.e. PSA 3 years ago). No one is gonna go to a place that has no erj flying past 2017 unless an announcement is made.
