I would say NO!!!! A friend of mine, who was tracked down via LinkedIn and is 62 years old, was just interviewed by Skywest and has a interview with TransState later in the year. Of course, he has a ton of experience.

Also, XJT does not make money so there will never be a real profit sharing check after the $1000 bonus the first 2 years.

Envoy has ZERO problem filling their seats because they offer a true flow and decent pay. Hmm....Coincidence?

If they know you will make $hit wages for a decade, yes, no loan.

If you are to make a livable age, whether you're an engineer, diesel mechanic, nurse, whatever, you CAN secure a loan for just about anything. Perfect terms? Probably not, it's not a secured loan. But if your industry doesn't pay garbage, the loan is at least somewhat secure in and of your career ambitions. Otherwise NOBODY would get loans for ANYTHING. There are tons of CFI's, 135 guys, pt91 guys etc that would LOVE to go to even a regional, but will not/can not handle making garbage wages, they have mouths to feed. If the wage was right, starting, 75-95K+, OVERNIGHT you would see an absolute GLUT of pilots willing to go to their first 121 gig. Get real.
I'm glad u got a loan..first I had heard of one. Is is also possible to get a loan to cover your flight training all the way to ATP? Is it possible to get on to cover PPL, Inst, Comm, CFI, so you can at least go from scratch to working as a CFI???

I would assume that both of the above would cost a lot more than $35,000. If you have $0 for flight training, and want to be a pilot, can you now get the loan to get you to your first job???

Namaste.

For all those wondering where the industry will trend, I'll mention to you what President Obama said on open mic to the PM of Russia a couple yrs ago. "Wait until after the election."

Watch world market reaction. World leaders reaction, enemies who try to test our President.

6 months from now EVERYTHING could change. We are due for another cyclical downturn. Pay attention in the next few months after the election for global stability.

Exactly my point: I don't have a problem with, no I admire, people who want to DEFEND the USA. Unfortunately, all I see is our military being used OFFENSIVELY (I assume you know the difference) against people who aren't our enemies.

This from Gen. Wesley Clark explains our current offensive policy very well - or do you think he's a "REMF" too?

Further down the food chain, CFI hiring seems to be slowing down quite a bit. I don't know if it's the traditional fall/winter slow down or not.
