What is the difference between a pre-offer and conditional offer? Do you fill out the pria paperwork during the interview and do they request 141 records. Just curious why so many get weeded out AFTER the interview. And how many pilots out there have some kind of legit criminal record?!

PRIA takes place after the interview/pre-offer.

So you interview and get a pre offer...then they do he pria...and you get a conditional offer? Conditional upon what? How can ant regional afford to hire 30% of interviewees.

Obviously they can rescind the pre-offer if things turn up in your past from PRIA or background checks.

Everything is conditional until your drug test is done.

I start later this month and while my PRIA and background checks are complete, it's still conditional until my drug test is done.

Personally I don't think it's a bad thing that they're turning people away that have skeletons in the closet that aren't reasonably explained.

I may not be technically correct as to what is conditional upon what, but it gives you a fair idea of the process I just went through.

Envoy emails all documents (pria) to be completed before the interview.

After a successful interview, a pre-offer is extended. All documents are collected while there and sent to Capt review board. Once through the review board a conditional offer is extended.

I can't answer the 30% part of your question.

Just to clarify, in my case they sent off my PRIA documents/background checks AFTER my successful interview. I had pre-filled in everything and emailed them to recruiting before my interview.

PRIA/background responses were still arriving back to Envoy AFTER successful CA review board. They can rescind the conditional offer if something comes back from previous employers that can't be easily/reasonably explained.

I will say, PDT is being a little picky right now. I know a guy that was turned down for commercial oral check ride failure.. didn't even get the interview.

Everyone i have flown with at pdt had been a solid professional.. solid.. the new hires seem like people coming from other regionals or the 135 world and are a very high standard.

Same with me.

2-guys from 121, 2-military and 1-135 operator.

You're correct....thank you for the clarification.

The flow rates you seek are listed in the APC profile for each airline. The numbers vary at each airline due to a number of factors.

Taking straight contractual flow numbers (no outside attrition or growth) Envoy is the fastest flow to AA. PDT will catch up if they can grow and PSA will need to negotiate for more numbers if they want to catch up.

As for standards at the WO, they don't hire all applicants. However, if someone has something on their record that worries them about moving on to mainline, a flow is a really nice insurance policy. Just make sure you are honest about your past and be able to answer questions about it.

It's all gonna depend on what you mean by these background issues. Misdemeanors or a felony could be a big difference. Regionals are desperate but they're not gonna a hire someone with jail time for drug trafficking on their record. Guys are still being taken out of training for trivial things on their records. Saw it first hand with the class ahead of mine.
