I might not work for a regional but that doesn't mean I haven't been looking and when I look into something I do my best to make my decision an educated one. Pay, work rules, environment, employee satisfaction, location, reserve time, benifits, 401k contribution, future outlook, stability, ect. You don't have to wait till you make a mistake to learn from it.
You work for Mesa don't you?

LAFF, there's no such thing as a commutable line at Mesa. Under current conditions there, you could hold reserve. Mesa has ready reserve(you sit at the airport 8-12 hours a day) and mostly don't fly. With 8 days off per 28 that reserve pilots get...you won't be seeing much of the fam. You still have a ways to go before you have to worry about that stuff anyway. Prep for your training and enjoy the ride till then.
Where are you based Slice?

Your $50 at FDX doesn't guarantee you an interview only a chance to put your app on file. May as well buy $50 worth of Powerball tickets for the majority(over 9000 apps on file)and don't get me started on the whole 300 hour airline pilot thing. I don't think either place should charge. It's the cost of doing business and they should absorb it.
This may be going away, they are really having trouble getting people in the interviews anymore. Don't get me wrong, this place can be a real ****** hole they brought it on themselves, definately. If it was the place to be people would throwing $50 at them for an interview.
