You have the right attitude, but it doesn't work that way at a big airline. Try meeting with a chief pilot, assistant chief, training instructor/manager, etc. Make some calls; tell them you are interested in Express and will be in the area. Try to get an appointment to talk to someone about a job there. Get shown around and learn about the company. I think they call it an "informational interview"; you interview the employer to learn about the company and decide if you want to work there. It can't hurt, unless you make yourself look bad in the process. That's up to you. Good luck.

I've had an internal recommendation for the last 2-3 weeks and still haven't heard anything from applying in mid-January. Their HR department works through a 3rd party source and filters a lot of the resumes, sometimes probably overlooking quality pilot candidates for one reason or another. If you ask me, it's completely ludicrous how they conduct it and is damaging their hiring.

Relax man, I had way more experience and time than you and it took them a loonnnnnnngggggggg time to call me, so stop complaining and wait in line your not special

Good point Otto. Toilet you should attempt this. Don't let the jealous of others kill your motivation. The worst that could happens is them saying they can not see you at that time.

I agree with this. I have NEVER gotten a job in aviation by waiting for the phone to ring (might work with mesa or eagle nowdays). TD, the odds of you actually getting an interview on the spot are slim, but if you manage to get some face-time with a recruiter, interviewer, or CP (like Otto said) that might put your resume at the top of the stack.

- Don't be too pushy or obnoxious or you'll get blacklisted.
- Be prepared for a full interview, just in case they ask you a few random questions.

I can almost guarantee, with the pace of things over here with the branded flying, charter flying, ridiculous amount of interviewing, new hire training and upgrade training, that no one in the training center or HR department is sitting there twiddling their thumbs waiting for someone with a sh!t toothed grin and a back pack to come walking in the door for an unscheduled interview. If anything, you might get a few words with the receptionist or an intern who will take down your information and politely show you the door. Just a guess on my part.
