Poor poor Charlie Bucket, looks like that upgrade keeps getting further and further away...

The company can run as many vacancy bids as they wish. They can award every FO on property a captain's vacancy...it just may take a great long while to go to training.

Charlie hasn't been awarded the upgrade yet and it is well known we are understaffed. We have tons in the training pipeline that haven't hit the line since the hiring started going crazy a few months ago. I wouldn't give this much consideration for anyone in the future, this is just from the mid 2016 hiring drought. Will be over in a month or two. So Charlie's mileage will vary considerably from your experience. The massive classes haven't hit the line yet.

Not sure what you are getting at with this??

My bet is that it is a Senior CA bidding the 175 from the 145.

Flow plan just came out and they are upgrading close to 100 new CAs in Feb-Apr.

This is an Envoy guy.

It's a CRJ FO upgrading to NY Captain..only. But by all means, let's start a thread and go all chicken little over it.

Check out those CRJ captain training dates...the junior guy's estimated finish is almost one year to the day of the award, which was October 14, 2016. Holy schiza.

Yeah I saw that. Are they seat locked now? Could they bid out to a different CA position?

The classes were pushed back months, and also this happened after the bid. It is apprently a staffing issue with CRJ FOs, as a lot of FOs upgrading to different statuses are also being held back.

They can bid out on the next bid, but it resets the training freeze when going to class on the new status. Also there is no guarantee when the new class may be for whatever status they are awarded. 175 is somewhat backed up it appears, 145 classes are running through pretty quickly. But like I said above, CRJ FOs are the ones getting hosed here, and it appears to be a staffing issue with that status. Guys transferring to the 145 in LGA are being withheld too, for example.

One more thing: the flow requires a one year seat lock. If some of these FOs are withheld for a very long time, it has the potential to affect flow date. Envoy of course has the discretion to waive the seat lock if it becomes an issue, but we see how they operate with being generous towards the flow through. This is why the withholding happening is extremely alarming.
