Kids and family is right. You can't put a price on that. You got one life and commuting and missing those days is something you will never get back. You can't put a price on that. Moving isn't an option when wife has a good established career. The only BIG downside is the 401k. But tucking your kids into bed makes up for that.

Refuse to commute. My simple rule. Move. Family (kids) are everything.

You just get to a point where you must accept that you're most likely not going to move up and simply deal with it. Some folks might rationalize it by bragging about how good they have it or not commuting or whatever, but we're keenly aware that we're missing out big time. My only question is, why does it bother some people so much? If someone is a loser lifer at xyz regional, how does that negatively affect you? Ignore the fools and take advantage that there's simply less competition for you to move onto a real career.

You're not a "loser lifer". You and other career regional pilots clearly have a different set of circumstances that dictate different priorities. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Tell me how you feel about responsibility after you get hired, complete training, and fly the line for a year or two.
