Default CRJs coming?

Latest rumor from the training department from instructors meetings is that they brought up getting the CRJ training program running again cause of scope limits on 76 seaters and apparently Delta wanting its regional partners to have both fleets to cover for one another.

I wonder how they'll get people to fly them. Incentives or just start scheduling people for CRJ training? Or perhaps people can bid by seniority, in which case a lot of people who just finished getting typed in the 170 will face another round of type training.

Or best of all this idea is squashed.

Doubtful. Republic’s first go at CRJ’s didn’t go well.. easyer to get 175SC’s. Or even get back into the E145 game...

If the money is right Bedford may go for it. Who else is a CRJ operating thats not wholly owned (so they can fly for Delta) that can do it besides Wisky, SkyWest...

No reason for OO to give XJT/ASA more flying when they can take it themselves.

... And I’m not sure of the relationship status between DL and ZW. DL and ZW had an AIP to codeshare together back in 2014/2015. Internal communication from ZW’s CEO was along the lines of “we have an AIP to fly for Delta. There are just a few minor issues that have to be worked out, but we’re fully confident we can do it”. ZW had aircraft on the books. They were at Rockford getting the new “operated by” sticker slapped on and whatever else had to be done to accept a new aircraft. Literally 10 days after the letter from the CEO, the deal fell apart. So.... not sure if the proverbial bridge between ZW and DL is still there, or if it has been burned.
