Question Republic Captain Upgrade?

Hello!, Well I'm new to this APC and I've been reading about a few regionals like Piedmont, Envoy, PSA and they all look very good but some people wrote about their captain upgrade being 3 years aprox from hire date. How does republic compare to these AAWO regionals when it comes to captain upgrade? Whats the benefit of Republic vs. these other regionals?

Right now republic upgrade is around 2 years. But that means nothing to anyone who is not already at republic and is next in line for upgrades. Upgrade times change so fast.

People come to republic for QOL, pay, equipment, and more flight time. As has been said many times, live in base.

To answer your question outside of the basic reasons why everyone will tell you their reason for coming to (fill in here) airline... Lately the more junior dudes and dudets to be awarded upgrade are being awarded them at about 24-30 months seniority.. due to sim availability it's anywhere from 2-4 months before you actually go to training for upgrade. That latter statistic will change, but with the addition of the new planes the 24 months to be awarded upgrade is a good "ball-park" statistic if you were to be in a hire class tomorrow... assuming no changes in economy, or addition/loss of flying. Hope this helps you.

Default 2022 captain Upgrade times

What do Upgrade times look like for somebody with almost 1000 135 PIC coming in as an FO? Is it still a 2 year or more wait to upgrade?

135 PIC only counts when it’s ‘scheduled’ or over 9(?) seats.
You’ll need 1000hrs SIC 121 prior to upgrade so that’s at the very least a year and a half.

I believe I was told at RPA they require 1000 in the 170/175 type per their contract. I could be wrong but that was talked about in my interview.

Almost correct, our contract requires:

1) ATP Certificate
2) 2,500 TT
3) 500 multi-engine
4) 1,000 SIC in a 121 operation

Do research on this time. It bit me at my current carrier. I was upgraded based on the previous 91k tpic time and after I was online working as a Capt the company came back and pulled it. Sent me back through as an FO and waisted 3/4 of this year for me. There is a letter of interpretation available to read that breaks it down.
