I make fun of OO pilots all of the time, and it's kinda fun, because they take it in stride, and I do the same back. Besides, it's not their fault that they're all so ugly.

As soon as someone says anything about YX, though, it's all "you suck your airline sucks I know you are but what am I".

This is true, and your just paying it forward to OO. OO has you, 9E has mpet, and a forum without mpet would be a dull one at best.

I’ve worked at 2 other regionals, and charter. Yes at this point in time Republic is better then those places. Airlines have unions, because most airline managers put profits before their people. Republic is one of these, and in recent memory was probably one of the worst. The only reason “culture change” happened, was because we couldn’t fill our classes. Management did not have an epiphany about the way they were treating their employees, they simply made a business decision. LIFT was also a business decision, which benefits the company. They (upper management) love the idea of LIFT, because it reduces the impact of the pilot shortage, which reduces the leverage of the pilot group (union).

Republic will survive, because they are profitable, and who doesn’t love money. We pick up excess flying monthly, because other carriers can’t cover their flying. I expect Republic will have an IPO within 12-18 months. After that my concern would be AA moving flying to the WOs. AA is currently out largest FFD partner.

And with what aircraft would any WO fly our flying with? AA would have to order new aircraft and possibly certify Envoy as EOW. Why would they spend extra money to do so when they already have a reliable source for the flying?

It’s called a whipsaw.
Why do the major carriers all of a sudden decide to spend large quantities of money on their desired projects?

AA has options for a bunch of 175's, but I don't think those would be used to take flying from Republic. I believe Envoy will take flying from Skywest and Mesa out of DFW and let Republic do it's thing. Much easier than fitting the planes with rafts for EOW.

We operate over 80 175's for AA. It would take a multi billion dollar order for them to replace our flying in house with new planes. There also are no rafts on the EOW planes. EOW is a lot more than just fitting planes with survival equipment though.

You can't whipsaw if you reduce your number of providers. Our AA flying is in no danger, as much as Envoy would like to think otherwise. Hell we have been covering a bunch of flying for PSA in CLT for the last 2-3 months now as well.

Yeah, like I said, I don't see that happening. There are easier and worse-performing airlines to replace.

It’s a regional - it’s always in danger.
You whipsaw Envoy, sure enough. Doesn’t mean Envoy can’t whipsaw YX.
