So IOE isn't out of our base since we won't know until after IOE? Then we just wait for a desired vacancy per each bid period thereafter? Or are you saying 'future bid' as in subsequent bids after our initial 'first' bid? I'm confused..

me too by this response. You bid a base in your new hire class which is effective immediately. If you don't get you want you can bid in the next vacancy bid which is effective 4 months after the bid. (Feb bid effective Jun 1st)

Thank you.
I asked after the interview and they said if someone answered all of the technical but had a crappy attitude they would not get hired. They really want folks who know their stuff but has a good personality to ba around for a 3-4 day trip.

I think most pilots (at all companies) would rather fly with someone who is easy to get along with & fun to be around but may be a little weak in an area or two over someone who has no noticeable weakness but is a douchebag.

The personality of the person sitting next to you is often the difference between an amazing 3-4 day trip vs. a completely miserable experience that you hope you never have to deal with again.

That’s my advice to anyone facing an interview - at this level especially. Be someone those guys wouldn’t mind sitting next to for 5 days.

Also, you may get lucky on an early base transfer. I was awarded LGA out of training but wanted EWR. After about 2 mos they called and said "hey, feel like moving next month?" Which makes me think you might be able to call Crew Planning say after 6 weeks and say "Any chance.....?" Obviously not a given but they can't say yes if you don't ask.

(I apologize in advance for all the work I may have just caused Crew Planning )

Default Seniority level at BOS, EWR, and LGA?

Interested in flying for Republic one day but am curious what seniority looks like at my current top choice bases. Would it be possible to hold these out of training? Any idea on upgrade times here too?

Guys in training right now don’t even know so it’s tough to say. LGA usually no problem, ORD not so much.

I got awarded EWR on my first bid so that’s definitely possible. My class had a good amount go to IND too. YMMV

If you're in the "interested in..one day" stage, there's really no point in giving an answer to this except what you've already heard. BOS and LGA are fairly jr TODAY and EWR is usually attainable out of training or shortly thereafter.
Upgrade times TODAY are pretty much as soon as you meet the quals.

The qualifications are;

2,500 hours total pilot time;
500 hours multi-engine; and
1,000 SIC in a FAR Part 121 operation.

No one can prognosticate with any accuracy what the future holds, however I seriously doubt this will change anytime in the near future.
