I think opening IAH somewhat backfired. BB stated multiple times we’d be going after other flying once CPA contracts expired. Well, Mesa’s was set to expire, but just got renewed. And to add insult to injury, they not only renewed their CPA, but expanded it with 20 additional frames. You’d be blind if you didn’t think opening IAH was an attempt at winning some of their flying. Just another reason I question our longtime viability as a UAX regional.

Technically Mesa didn’t expand anything. They did renew their contract, but the 20 E175’s are replacements for old 700’s. They didn’t gain hulls or flying, they just traded in the old beater for a new car.

They expanded their 175 CPA.

Yes, but they didn’t get additional frames, just different ones.

You’re right to question. If deniers don’t see the writing on the wall they're delusional. United has doubled down with their preferred partners and have been awarding more 175s to those partners. One of which (xjet) didn’t even have a 175 program! And now Envoy is slowly bringing their 175s through LGA. Mainline is clearly transitioning to a wholly owned type model.

Everyone wanted to bet on Republic either buying trans state holdings or securing our competitors flying after their contracts were up but maybe it’s Republic that’ll be the odd man out. Id be shocked if we still see those 100 airplanes BB ordered (that we haven’t heard anything about in a year...)

The only thing I could possibly see is Republic stepping in and operating the 76 seat flying gojet was doing in Denver as they transition to a 550 fleet. That would explain the growth in Denver recently, but that could also just be us filling in while the Max is out... either way, no one except management knows what’s going on and I don’t think they even know what’s around the corner. Just get in get your time and get out.

Agreed. I think a lot of people just don't want to believe it, but it's pretty obvious how United and American want their wholly owned and preferred partners doing the flying.

Yep. If I was a young pilot looking at regionals I don't think I would even consider one without a flow or CPP.

GoJet has no 76 seat United flying... It's 7 airplanes for DL out of mainly DTW/RDU

Republic is probably the most expensive UA regional, which is not a good thing to the “bean counters”. You guys have a good product, but UA is more concerned about cost. Start volunteering and working on your resumes. Southwest love YX pilots!
