95 total lines for Feb... We now have more daily departures out of DEN than IAH. Feb is my first month in Houston, which I now totally regret. I left a base with a line to a base where I'll 100% be on reserve.
I haven't paid much attention to IAH since it opened, is this normal? Or a February slow time thing? Or is IAH circling the drain? I can't believe we only have 20 daily departures out of there for February.. that's crazy. Meanwhile OO keeps adding flying there. I know Republic has always been a northeast and outstation airline but does anyone know what's going on with Houston?

Hopefully just because of the slow time of year, but probably more likely because United is awarding that flying to Skywest, Mesa, and ExpressJet. It’s not NY, so BB sees no reason to fight for it. Probably because we’re the “best” in the northeast or whatever that crap is they spew at the training center.

It definitely hasn't grown the way I think we'd all hoped it would, but I don't see any reason to be concerned going forward. In fact, 36-37 hard lines anticipated is as many as I think I've seen since it opened.

What I’ve been hearing for a longtime now from several people is that Republic was never meant to be long term or even grow in IAH. Republic was brought in back in 2018 because Mesa couldn’t staff planes properly, to the point where we had to park 2 airplanes.
United wasn’t happy at all and decided to give away flying for 15 airplanes to you. Now Mesa is properly staffed in the 175 and XJT will grow the 145 operations... what I don’t know is why Skywest is growing as well... seems to me that growth should go to you.

United never gave us flying that was supposed to go to Mesa. It was actually the other way around. Republic had an order for 24 aircraft prior to the bankruptcy to be flown for United. After declaring Chapter 11, Republic couldn’t come up with the financing to cover those aircraft. So this is where United stepped in. They assumed the entire order of 24; 12 went to Republic and 12 went to Mesa. To date, these are the only UAX aircraft NOT owned by YX.
“As a part of these settlements, Republic is released from its obligation to purchase 24 new E175s from Embraer, which we could not obtain competitive financing for while we were still in bankruptcy. However, United has agreed to purchase these aircraft directly from Embraer, and United has committed 12 delivery positions to Republic beginning in April 2017.”
It’s always good to have actual facts to backup some of this ridiculousness on here...

There are more pairings (170) and more anticipated hard lines (36-37) both year-over-year and from January to February.
It definitely hasn't grown the way I think we'd all hoped it would, but I don't see any reason to be concerned going forward. In fact, 36-37 hard lines anticipated is as many as I think I've seen since it opened.
