700s for UA are pretty much exclusive used for DMA flying so those aren’t going anywhere. I don’t think OO will have trouble staffing these airplanes, they are sending almost 150 through training a month.

150? Doubt that. But what good is new hire classes if you lose half of that in attrition each month. The reality is they will stuggle to staff these planes and so would we.

Shouldn't be surprised, we are too expensive for what UAL is looking for right now. Kirby only wants cheap lift for maximum profits, regardless of operational reliability.

Nope . Those 700’s are UA’s only link to Aspen...OO list is up 400 pilots to over 5400. They have known about this and got sims and increased classes already. People were scratching there heads why, 3 months ago. Didn’t seem right. But then out of the blue AA 175’s (not coming tell last Q 2020) And now UA 175’s.. Currently 1900 ERJ pilots on OO lists. ( for 157 E175’s right now)

But more United flying awarded to skywest and expressjet while Republic is left in the dark with stagnant bases in the very bases Skywest will operate those 175s. Is Republic turning in to nothing more than a northeast regional? Wonder what marketing will come up with after Skywest passes us as the largest 170 fleet...
It’s pretty simple. UAL loves low cost/low performance carriers. They’re upgrading the 145’s..... while everyone else is trying to find space in the desert for the 50 seaters. Kirby LOVES cheap outsourcing and backward thinking. From what I hear UA is very low on BB’s radar anyways.

But on a side note, who cares??

It actually might not be the case we missed out at all. While annoyed to see Skywest continuously getting flying with our partners on the 175, this flying might have been contractually been obligated to them. When they sold ExpressJet to UA, Skywest was given as part of the agreement the guarantee of the next 25 3-class regional jets. I figured it would be CRJ550’s since UA is scoped out on the large RJs, but they could have either had this planned all along or it coincidentally came to fruition and fulfilled the remainder of the sale agreement.

Goijg forward if we continue to lose out on UA flying for 175’s, then I would say something is up either with Being too expensive with UA or Us not wanting to deal with them.

The only thing keeping us from flying further west is lack of Mx in DEN. Why it is not just a MX base for us like CLT is I don’t get. I had a emergency exit sign break and that plane was down for 8 hours while they flew the new plastic cover in...

We should all care when our competitors are continuously awarded new flying while Republic is stuck on the outside looking in. ESPECIALLY when said flying is in two of our bases... it’s not like Skywest was awarded 175 flying in LAX and SFO. We’re talking about ORD and IAH.

100%

That deal Skywest had with United is what lead all the OO guys towards a cliff when XJET started their 175 program earlier last year. The fact that OO was awarded these 25 shouldn't surprise anyone. I would be shocked if we actually lose UA flying, or any flying for that matter.
