Republic misses out again..

How in the world does rpa continue to miss out? Yes, I know we just received 30 delta planes last year.
But more United flying awarded to skywest and expressjet while Republic is left in the dark with stagnant bases in the very bases Skywest will operate those 175s. Is Republic turning in to nothing more than a northeast regional? Wonder what marketing will come up with after Skywest passes us as the largest 170 fleet...

Is being the largest Ejet operator the most important issue?
Or, is staying in business, in the black, with a quality product more important?

Agreed. Although with UA’s decisions it appears a “quality product” is not very important to them.

FOMO is definitely not the issue. In BB's ELT TC visits, he repeatedly indicated that he's been burned on aggressive fleet plans, non-supported West flying, non-committed Code Share partnerships, etc. That's not "missing out." It's being smart.
Chick-Fil-A10 years ago had internal management fears about expanding stores to keep up with Boston Market, fears of falling behind revenues. The Cathy family said "no" to expansion and new stores and instead remained focused on product quality control and corporate culture. It's a good plan. It's an attractive plan. Important people noticed.

It actually might not be the case we missed out at all. While annoyed to see Skywest continuously getting flying with our partners on the 175, this flying might have been contractually been obligated to them. When they sold ExpressJet to UA, Skywest was given as part of the agreement the guarantee of the next 25 3-class regional jets. I figured it would be CRJ550’s since UA is scoped out on the large RJs, but they could have either had this planned all along or it coincidentally came to fruition and fulfilled the remainder of the sale agreement.
Goijg forward if we continue to lose out on UA flying for 175’s, then I would say something is up either with Being too expensive with UA or Us not wanting to deal with them.
The only thing keeping us from flying further west is lack of Mx in DEN. Why it is not just a MX base for us like CLT is I don’t get. I had a emergency exit sign break and that plane was down for 8 hours while they flew the new plastic cover in...
