AA non-rev
#11
Just an AA commuter who uses RPA on American Eagle to get to work. It sounds like jumpseat will be first come first serve if we can figure out how to list but the reason I am posting isnt that….
will I some be unable to non-rev in the back starting Tuesday? I have to plan my commute. CMH-CLT (trip Tuesday) and CMH-DCA (rest of the month of June)
Thanks in advance

Thanks, some guys are saying non-rev will be limited also so Id thought I would ask here. I appreciate it
from a recent email:
They plan to seek to force American Airlines gate agents to violate American Airlines procedures and policies by denying AA pilots NonRev (D1 and D2) travel on their aircraft.

RPA provides a service to AAG that Doug pays for. It's a monodirectional relationship that, as it turns out, OO and YV are just fine with. Given that AAG spent the last several years eliminating AX, ZW, CP, and EV, it's a ballsy move to push for a not-industry-standard relationship with your largest benefactor.
I genuinely hope this does not hurt the pilots of YX. It seems like a risky move to pull at this time in history. YV still has a large amount of excess capacity sitting in storage, and god knows they're cheaper...

Indeed. I'm not quite sure exactly what Teamsters (by the way, when did Teamsters have a reputable history with Airlines?) hopes to gain by pushing for equal check-in time. What I think RPA's union leadership forgets is that the jumpseat on their aircraft may be there's the flight is not. The flight belongs to AAG. The only reason an Eagle flight pushes back is due to AAG cutting RPA a check. RPA own's no flight that AAG operates. The relationship isnt mutual, it's not equal, and RPA should have no reasonable expectation of getting online benefits. If the pilots of RPA want D6 Travel Planner Check-in, I hear the Wholly Owned's are ramping up hiring.

We are not pushing for equal check in time.
APA walked away from the table when AA management, Republic management, YX union all had agreed on the bump in priority BELOW EVERY SINGLE AAG pilot and only ahead of OAL.
Due to APA's choice we are now OAL time of check in on each other. Welcome aboard. Make sure you let the gate agent know when you arrived at the gate so that another OAL doesn't beat you to the JS. You'll get the hang of it.
Finally, your claim that we are pursuing a Not industry standard relationship is an absolute lie as it is the same exact arrangement that DL and UA have with all their regionals.

Won't have to - the gate agent is going to issue the 1W to me regardless since I'll be a D2 or D1. So unless you hang out in the gate area the entire time to orchestrate everything, you'll have to refuse me the j/s once I'm at the flight deck, then go up to the gate area to have the agent reissue the 1W to the OAL guy.
