So you're saying no AAG pilot (AA or our WO guys) will be able to sit in your jumpseat until an IT change is made that will allow us to be listed as a D6? I'm not a commuter, but that's good to know.

And curious, what IT change was made that'll prevent us from being issued a 1W off a D2 or D1?

Yes YX CAs will be doing the walk. Most of us that are commuters already do anyhow.

Ignore that other post. That guy needs to go read the union guidance. AAG pilots can ride D2 FDJ in a YX JS. Issues will arise when a D6 listing checks in and a D2 FDJ does too. Whoever got to the gate first will be riding. In order to ensure Time Of Check-in have the gate agent change your D2 to a D6 listing. If they refuse then make sure they note the time or you introduce yourself to the YX crew if you see them at the gate. Welcome aboard.

Not trying to be an a-hole here. I know my company's gate agents pretty well - they're gonna do exactly what the computer tells them to do, which (unless you guys had the system changed) will be to issue the 1W to me before the D6 because my D2 listing will have an FDJ on it. If I don't run into the OAL guy how am I supposed to know that I was improperly issued the 1W? It's gotta either happen at the gate by you or you'll have to make the fix once I'm at your flight deck.

As I said, YX CAs will be making the walk. We won't be leaving anyone behind. We understand how the hAAte agents work. We get left behind by them often

As the guy you’ll meet at the bottom of the jetbridge, you’re most likely correct. I’ll do the walk but if don’t see anyone I can’t do anything proactively.

What I need from you is to understand that if I see someone else listed I’m likely going to investigate when you come down first. Personal preferences/opinions/whatever aside, it’s now in my FOM that everyone is time of check-in. I’m not in the position to violate the FOM. Got kids and dog and bills to pay and whatnot. I’m not looking to “deny” anyone the jumpseat and I’m not looking to ruin anyone’s day. It’s crap commuting right now. I’m a commuter. I know.

You are most certainly welcome up front and I’ll treat you with the same kindness and mutual respect I always have. The only thing that has changed is you are now at the same priority level we are when we ride up front on AAG metal, right down to having to have the gate agent modify your listing to a D6 (you) or check you in (what we have to do). It’s not fun or convenient, but that’s what I’ve done since I’ve been hired. Welcome to the suck.

If you’re non-revving it’s a complete non issue. Nothing has changed there, contrary to the information that is floating around. Go on vacation. Cash in that D1 listing. Get sloshed in first. Whatever. Send it.

This is most certainly not what any of us at Republic wanted and something that I guarantee 90% of AAG pilots didn’t even know existed, because the union folks there waited until now to decide they weren’t a fan. From the AAG folks I’ve conversed with since this came to a head for all of you (we’ve been trying for this for the better part of 10 years) most were unaware or misinformed. It’s a topic best discussed in person with a beer in my experience.

I’ve got no bad blood with the AAG folks and they are welcome up front at the same priority they offer me.
