Fully staffed and now able to fly all their flying they use to. So no need to give the flying, nor the airplanes to PSA. IF YOU ARE A 1500 CFI, apply everywhere and go ASAP to the first class date you get. You know longer have a “choice” of which airline to pick. Those days are over.

Lol. Bs. Mesa has no more pilots now than it bad 2 months ago. Attrition has NOT stopped.

SkyWest is doing forced upgrades, once they get those staffed up, they too will take Republic flying. But hey at least your senior F/O’s won’t be furloughed. Any new hire today should go to a Regional that has a forced upgrade policy to ensure their job security.

Wow.. You’re so dumb, you could throw
yourself on the ground and still miss. Unbelievable.

CFI is no pilot, man. Don’t even bother.

Forcing upgrades isn't smart. Not everyone is ready for the responsibility at the same time. If someone being forced to upgrade slips through the cracks and makes a smoking hole... But $afety Fir$t

If they aren’t ready, they don’t need to be an FO either.

One of the few times we agree. Nothing annoys me more than FOs who aren't constantly trying to learn the left seat. They tell you day one in training that every day as an FO is training for Captain. If by 1000 hours you arn't ready for the Captain seat on the 175 then you weren't doing your job.

I disagree. It’s technically possible to reach 1000 hrs in a single year and you’ve only seen seasonality once. You think having a handful of landings in snow and wet surfaces is really enough? It may or may not be. I won’t pass judgement on someone who doesn’t feel ready only having been in the 121 world for a year. I wasn’t ready to get off ioe after 35hrs because all my flights were 3 and 4 hrs. I only had 6 landings in that time. Every situation is different and a lot comes down to the trips, routes and the person.

OMG. A CFI soon to be FO isn’t ready to be a captain. They need experience gained on the line but that’s only one piece.

I can tell you what PSA recruiter told my buddy, they expect MESA to implode, possibly go into bankruptcy thereby making a bunch of DECs and FO’s available.

He has no idea what they are basing that on. Nor do I.

I've always wondered where Mesa, of all airlines, got the money to pay their pilots that much. Only thing that makes sense in my (albeit uneducated) mind is that they pumped up their pay unsustainably to staff their operation and plan on payrolling themselves into bankruptcy. Restructure, get concessions, and then it's back to the pre-covid Mesa everybody knows and loves
